Krakus Mound, also known as Mound of Krak, is one of Krakow's four historic mounds - and the oldest of them all. Situated in the Podgórze district, on Lasota Hill, it offers a One of the most beautiful panoramic views of the city. No crowds, no noise, a gentle breeze and space that invites reflection.
According to legend, it was here that the the legendary founder of Krakow - Prince Krak. The mound is more than 16 meters high and is 271 meters above sea level, making it an ideal vantage point. From here you can see Wawel Castle, the Old Town, Kazimierz, and on a cloudless day even Tatra Mountains. It's a great place to start or end a scooter tour of southern Krakow.
On the way to the mound, it is worth stopping at St. Benedict's Church - is one of Krakow's smallest and oldest churches, opening only a few times a year. The route itself towards the mound leads through Bednarski Park - A natural, charming park with the remains of a quarry, numerous alleys and viewpoints.

In May, the following also takes place around the mound Sleeve - A reconstruction of the Slavic festival of spring, with demonstrations of battles, crafts and rituals. This is one of the most atmospheric outdoor events in Cracow.
