Where is driving allowed? Simple order
- Road for bicycles (bike path) or bike lane - is your first choice.
- Street - Only if there is no road or bike lane and there is a 30 km/h limit on that street.
- Sidewalk - Exceptionally, when there is no bike path and the adjacent street has a limit of more than 30 km/h. However, on the sidewalk, you should be extra careful and always give way to pedestrians.
Maximum speed
There is a maximum speed of 20 km/h on the bike path, bike lane and on the street with a limit of 30 km/h. This ensures that driving remains safe for all road users.
Pedestrian crossings - how to behave?
At the "zebra" you should always dismount and carry out the scooter - including when traffic is light and the green light is on.
You can pass only on a bicycle crossing, which is marked with a bicycle symbol. If you are not sure - it is better to go down.
In addition, before entering the crosswalk, stop, look around and make eye contact with the driver.
Age and eligibility
- 10-17 years: a bicycle card or AM/A1/B1/T driver's license is required.
- < 10 years: driving only possible in a residential zone and under the supervision of an adult.
- 18+: you can drive without additional authorizations.
Signaling maneuvers (turn/lane change)
Maneuvers should always be signaled in advance and clearly.
If the scooter has turn signals, such as. Segway MAX G2, it is obviously worth using them.
In contrast, models such as Segway MAX G30 do not have turn signals - in which case it is enough to extend your hand in the direction of the turn.
Lights and visibility
Lights should always be turned on after dark, in rain, fog or a tunnel - that is, when visibility is limited.
It is not mandatory during the day, but turning on the lights can increase your safety on the road.
Phone, alcohol, passengers - what's not allowed
- Phone in hand? Definitely forbidden. Therefore, it is advisable to use a holder or Segway panniers and voice navigation.
- Alcohol? Driving after drinking is prohibited and risks a fine.
- Passengers, pets, heavy luggage? Also prohibited - the scooter is designed for one person.
Parking and parking
The scooter should be parked so that it does not impede pedestrians - place it parallel to the edge and leave at least 1.5 meters of clear passage.
Always fasten it with a U-lock to a fixed component.
